January 26, 2018

Hello, friends!

Today is going to be REALLY brief Notes!

Tomorrow, our Stephen Ministries team will meet for Supervision at 8:30am in Room 1. If there is anyone reading this, and you are interested in any facet of Stephen Ministries, there is a secure receptacle at the Information Window in the the lobby. Just drop your comment/question in the box, and someone will respond promptly. Family Praise & Worship (formerly Family Circle Sabbath School) - Songs, testimonies, scripture, prayer, and more, for the kids and whole family - ROOM 8 - 9:30-9:45am. And, Sabbath Schools for all other age groups, from newborn to us older folks, taking place in several locations around the facility. They are all listed on the inside cover of your bulletin when you arrive Sabbath morning. Guest speaker, Pastor Paul Gibson, will bring us the morning message, entitled, “SEA OF JOY,” with a scripture reference of Revelation 15:2-4. It will be good to have Pastor Paul back with us! Tomorrow is our first Church-Wide Potluck of 2018. Please bring plenty of your favorite dish(es) to share, and plan to be a part of this time of fellowship and good food! There’s no better time to get to know people than around the table, sharing a meal. In an effort to get up-to-speed, the Pathfinder Club will meet again this Sabbath, 2:00-4:00pm.

Sunday, the Camelback SDA Women’s Breakfast Club will gather at 4:00 at the home of Diane Bond. And another exciting event happens Sunday. IT’S PASTOR MELANIE’S BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!

A couple February highlights: February 3 we will have a special guest speaker in observance of Black History Sabbath. Pastor Leon Brown, President of the Nevada/Utah Conference, will bring us the message. Pastor Melanie will speak on February 10. And, on February 17, we welcome back California Baptist University Choir & Orchestra for the worship service. Then, for our final Sabbath of February, the 24th, Pastor Mark will bring us the message. I don’t want to call it a highlight, but an event that many will have an interest in, there will be a memorial service for Kathy Proffitt’s son, Garron Haycock, who passed to his rest last year. It will be Sunday, February 18, 2:00pm in the sanctuary; followed by a meal reception in the Rotunda.

A message from our Stained Glass Window committee: A huge THANK YOU to all who have contributed to our STAINED GLASS WINDOWS project. We are off to a good start and now that the yearend festivities are over, it is time we once again bring this to your attention. Please make it a matter of prayer along with continuing to contribute to this project. We will soon be sending a deposit check so that the materials can be ordered, but we must continue raising funds to have the balance available when the windows are complete. Again, thank you for your dedication in so many ways to the Camelback Church.

We have made available to all a place to pray, and to be prayed with, in the Parents Room. Open during SS and after the worship service, come and make your requests known to God, write your requests and place them on the Prayer Board and also your Praises, glorifying God.

In light of upcoming leadership trainings for Arizona women's ministry leaders, AZ Young Women's Experience is collecting financial donations for restaurant gift cards to help our leaders build relationships with younger women and men in their church. Donate to empower the next generation! Send checks to Glendale SDA Church, 6801 North 43rd Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85019 and write "AZ Young W.E." in the memo. Thank you!

Some pianist assistance is being requested for Pre-School Sabbath School. If you could play once or twice a month, it would be a great help. Please contact Sharon Kirby if you are able to help: or 602.717.3462.

Hope to see many here tomorrow!

Love, Cherie O
