Good afternoon, Camelback members and friends! It’s been a while, and it’s good to be back.
A devotional thought for today:
The Master Puzzler
In Laughing in the Dark (Howard Books), Christian comedian Chonda Pierce calls God the Master Puzzler, because “in him all things hold together” (Colossians 1:17). In his infinite wisdom, God “can organize the colors better than anyone (Have you seen a sunset lately?) He knows where to fit every shape and size (Have you seen a mountain range?).”
Until God places the last piece, the final picture is a mystery to us. But in the meantime, God offers order and purpose, providing his law as the puzzle’s edges.
Pierce encourages people to let the “Master Puzzler” take over when life gets messy. Like the prophet Jeremiah, we can cry, “GOD, pick up the pieces. Put me back together again. You are my praise!” (17:14, The Message).
Have things gotten messy in your life lately, as happens to all of us at one time or another? Always remember, that when we keep Him in the forefront and allow Him to run things, it all goes just as it should!
A BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO PASTOR LOU - TODAY IS THE DAY!
Sad news to share today. Nina James passed away Tuesday night, following her lengthy battle with cancer. A memorial service will be held in the sanctuary on Sabbath afternoon, July 16 at 4:00pm. Please remember Howard, Kelly, Michael and other family members and friends as they grieve the loss of their precious wife, mother, mother-in-law and friend.
I want to encourage you to be at church this Sabbath (7-2). I know it’s the 4th of July weekend, and there are those who will be off vacationing, but if you’re in town, please plan to be here. Pastor Paul Gibson and Donna will wrap up their Interim Senior Pastor assignment, as he brings us the morning message, and we have a church-wide potluck to thank them for their service in our time of need. They have been with us since last December and we have been truly blessed in that time with them here.
Please plan to bring a dish or two for the potluck. We will want to have plenty for our visitors, also. Go light on desserts, as the church will provide cake and cookies.
In recognition of Independence Day, the Glendale SDA Church Sanctuary Choir will host a concert (My Country ’ Tis of Thee) Sabbath (7-2) evening, 7:00-8:30pm in the Sanctuary.
Sunday (7-3) is Pastor Mark’s birthday, which btw, he shares with his daughter, Trinity. Hope you both have a SWELL day!
Monday (7-4), Independence Day, the church office will be closed. I hope that each of us will take some time to reflect on our independence, and to thank God for our freedom to worship Him in safety.

Let’s not forget our Summer Food Drive.I see that you’re being supportive of this ministry in the amount of items that have already been brought in. Let’s keep up the good work; we have three more Sabbaths before it ends on July 16, so keep the food and hygiene items coming, my friends! How to Help: (1) Pick up a bag(s) in the foyer (2) Bring non-perishable food/hygiene items (3) Give to the Fresh Food Fund And remember, we will pack up the donated items on Sunday morning, July 17. We’ll let you know what time that will take place a little later in July. It’s a great time of accomplishment and fellowship.
As you begin to think about your giving to Tithe and Offerings for this week, please remember your Camelback Church Ministries budget. It’s summer, and the budget always suffers this time of year due to vacations, etc., so please pray, and allow God to lead in your giving.
Please remember those in need of prayer, within and outside the church. The needs are many.
I look forward to seeing many of you here on Sabbath.
Blessing in abundance to each of you!
