Good evening, my dear brothers and sisters in Christ!
Beginning tomorrow night, Friday, November 10 at 7:30pm and continuing all day Sabbath and into Saturday night, the Regional (African-American) Ministries Convocation will take place at Thunderbird Adventist Academy. The Adult guest speaker will be Pastor Gamal Alexander, Southern California Conference. The Young Adult guest speaker is Pastor Baron Sovory, SE California Conference.
This Sabbath, November 11, don’t forget Family Circle Sabbath School, 9:30am in Room 8, with Jeff Forgey and his team. The music is great and I know they have a lot going on in there. And for the youth and collegiate-aged, don’t forget Welcome Home, 9:30am, in Room 5. For the worship service, we will celebrate Communion. Pastor Mark will lead out in this meaningful and important remembrance of Jesus. Rhett Laufenburger will bring us a Backpacks for Christ ministry feature to kick off the Backpacks season. For this communion service we will dismissed for Footwashing during the worship service, instead of going on our own prior to worship. We will then return to the sanctuary to partake of the Emblems. It is a blessing that some of our elders, and Pastor Mark, will be taking communion to seven of our members and friends who are unable to attend. Thank you for this important service to those who are unable to be with us each week. There will be a visitor’s luncheon this week - if you’d like to contribute a dish(es), please feel free. And remember, EVERYONE can come to the visitor’s luncheon, you just need to bring an edible contribution(s).
JoAnn Bloom had a great response last Sabbath at her sign-up table for Adventurer-aged children. If you weren’t here last Sabbath, or missed the sign-up, and are interested in the following clubs: (Discoverers ages 1-3, Adventurers ages 4-9), please contact JoAnn Bloom so she can add your child(ren) to the lists of potential members. Her contact info is: 623.523.2541 or email@example.com

Volunteers are needed to help with the program. To help or participate, call Ugonna Woods, 602-793-1704. Tonight was their first night to meet. I will find out what date they will close the group and advise.
Remember to bring your nonperishable food donations for our Procession of Thanks which will take place next Sabbath, November 18. Our collection bins are ready and waiting in the foyer, crying out, “Fill me up, fill me up!!” We will, once again, be providing very generous Thanksgiving boxes to 15 community families, and your donations make this possible.
You won’t want to miss our Camelback Concert series offering on Saturday night, November 18, The Blackwood Brothers Quartet. This group is celebrating 83 years, and has become the best-known name in gospel quartet history. The concert starts at 6:30pm in the sanctuary.
Wednesday, November 22, the annual Thanksgiving Dinner takes place at our Seventh-day Adventist Community Service Center, 1320 N 15th St., Phoenix, AZ. Noon to 3:30 pm. Volunteers are needed to serve the guests, or if you could contribute a food item(s): turkeys, dressing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, corn, gravy, cranberry sauce, mac and cheese, punch. Needed: a setup team and a cleanup team. Questions or to volunteer call Denise Sanderson, 480-272-5024. I understand that so far, they have not had ANY CALLS offering assistance for this meal. I know a number of you have helped in the past; perhaps you could help again with this vitally important outreach.
Sabbath, November 25, Dawn of Hope Ministry (Stephanie Dawn) will be our musical guest for the worship service. Stephanie is a 20 year-old soprano who was singing at the age of one, and had performed her first solo in church by age three. By the age on nine, she was singing solo concerts across the U.S. and had recorded her first album. Stephanie appeared on her first 3ABN program and recorded her third album at age eleven. Stephanie has been with us once before and everyone in attendance was especially blessed, as will be the case again at the end of November.
